The fee is $50 per teammate. Only one member has to be a first responder. Cash and other prizes will be given to the winners. We are so lucky to have such incredible community support for the Fund and our Snow Scholars,” said Tim Snow, President of the George Snow Scholarship Fund “This event creates community awareness about physical fitness and helping out our first responders, the police department and the fire department,” said Samir Changela, owner of the Tilted Kilt in Boca Raton. “It’s going to be a big party out here and we will be raising funds for the George Snow Scholarship Fund.” Tilted Kilt will be donating a portion of the food and beverage sales made during the event at the restaurant and at the bar to the George Snow Scholarship Fund. “We want to help out the community and the George Snow Scholarship Fund is a very good cause. I know a couple people who have received a scholarship from them and I know what it can do for people…to be able to help them,” said Changela. Changela said after attending the George Snow Scholarship Fund Caribbean Cowboy Ball last year, picking the fund as their non-profit of choice was easy. “I learned more about what the George Snow Scholarship Fund does and it fits into our community and what we want to do. And the Fire Department works very closely with the George Snow Scholarship Fund. So it was no brainer and we said let’s do that!” He encourages everyone to bring the whole family, visit the sponsor tents and have a great time. Owner of The Training Pit, Neil Kiperman, is excited to be hosting this fitness competition between the fire and police department since many of them workout at The Training Pit. “There is always that friendly rivalry that goes on between them so we wanted to expand that rivalry outside our location to the streets. And make it a fun day to see who is the fittest, truly,” said Kiperman. “We want to create community awareness for our first responders, our fire department and our police department, especially with the things going on in our country so it would be great for the City of Boca Raton,” said Changela. Kipperman couldn’t agree more. “We want to support them as much as possible which is one of the reasons we want to do this as an annual event.” So come out and support your local fire and police officers that are out there every day protecting and serving the community. “It’s a great way to show your support towards them as well as have a little fun with the community,” said Kipperman.
