Genesis Community Health to Open Boca Raton Health Center Site in December 2015 New location planned with support from Boca Helping Hands BOCA RATON, FL (Nov. 17, 2015) – Genesis Community Health, Inc., a non-profit health center dedicated to serving patients of all economic levels, plans to open its first Boca Raton site in December to assist the medically underserved in the city. Opened in partnership with Boca Helping Hands, the new location is made possible through a $1,028,722 federal grant awarded to Genesis in August 2015, as part of $169 million in Affordable Care Act funding for 266 new health center sites in 46 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Nationally new health center sites are projected to increase access to health care services for more than 1.2 million patients. “At our new site, our services will include primary care and family practice for all ages as well as helping to determine eligibility for Medicaid, assistance with enrollment for healthcare coverage through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace, ,” said Genesis CEO DeAnna Warren said. In Boca Raton, approximately 34,700 low-income patients reside within the city limits, but only 930 are currently being seen at an existing healthcare center. All residents will be welcomed to make Genesis their healthcare home. Scheduled for opening December 1, 2015, the new site will be located at 30 SE 6th Street, Boca Raton, FL 33432, which has access to two bus lines, Routes 1 and 91. A Grand Opening reception and tours are being scheduled for January 2016. Genesis is working with Boca Helping Hands to reach potential patients and coordinate referrals and appointments. “Our partnership with Genesis Community Health fulfills one of our long-standing dreams to offer quality medical and eventually dental care to the clients we serve, and all those struggling economically in our community,” said Boca Helping Hands’ Board President Gary Peters. Boca Helping Hands is also assisting with communications and promotion of the new site. “We believe this partnership with Genesis Community Health is a major piece in the puzzle to leading those we serve to a life independent of any charitable and governmental assistance,” adds Boca Helping Hands’ Executive Director James S. Gavrilos. “Without access to proper medical care, those we serve are condemned to a life of poor health, which results in further entrapping them and their children into a life of poverty and hunger.” The Boca Raton site is a second expansion for Genesis. In May 2015, the clinic moved to larger offices adjacent to the Emergency Room at Bethesda Hospital East, 2815 S. Seacrest Blvd.
