Hospice Foundation Names Co-Chairs for 22nd Annual “Celebration by the Sea” For Bob and Karen Friedman, “It’s Personal” October 5, 2015 West Palm Beach, Florida — Hospice by the Sea Foundation and Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation today announced the co-chairs for the 22nd Annual “Celebration by the Sea,” taking place October 10, 2015 at the Delray Beach Club. Bob and Karen Friedman have experienced the loss of a loved one and personally benefited from hospice services. “Our family came to know the value of hospice care during a tragic time in our lives,” Bob Friedman says. “Hospice provided a world of gentle support for us while my nephew was alive and after he passed.” The Friedmans’ nephew, Mike, passed away in hospice’s care in 2005. Mike was a member of the Palm Beach Harley Owners Group (PBHOG), one of Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation’s biggest supporters. Following his passing, PBHOG began the annual “Saddle Mike” Poker Run with proceeds going to the Foundation. Bob Friedman’s company, R.M.F. Financial, Inc., honored Mike by donating and naming a room in his memory at the Charles W. Gerstenberg Hospice Center in West Palm Beach. “In profound appreciation of their compassionate care,” Friedman comments, “I began serving on the Foundation Board of Directors and supporting its fundraising efforts. My wife Karen and I are honored to be chairing the 2015 ‘Celebration by the Sea’ event. We want to ensure that every family in need can receive the deeply meaningful support we did.” The 22nd occasion of the “Celebration by the Sea” kicks off at 6:00 PM on October 10th. The evening raises awareness about the full spectrum of grief support services offered under TrustBridge Health’s Hospice umbrella. Hospice by the Sea and Hospice of Palm Beach County bereavement services are designed to ensure no one ever has to endure the end of life, or grieve, alone. Months, even years after a loss, TrustBridge Health Bereavement Centers provide services to help people learn to live fully once again.
