TransMedia Group to Represent Bernice A. King (Be A King), Youngest Daughter of Civil and Human Rights Leaders Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King BOCA RATON, FL.--TransMedia Group said it will serve as exclusive agent/publicist for Bernice Albertine King, the highly sought after prominent minister, global nonviolent thought leader & practitioner, lawyer/mediator, public speaker and CEO of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta, GA. King is the youngest daughter of civil and human rights legacy leaders Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King. “Bernice was only five when her father was killed and 17 when she spoke in her mother’s stead at the United Nations, which began her illustrious career as a public speaker dedicated to promoting positive social change through nonviolence, just as her parents had espoused so courageously,” said Adrienne Mazzone, president of TransMedia Group (www.transmediagroup.com). “We’re honored to represent such a positive force for peaceful change who has made it her life’s work to alleviate society’s ills nonviolently. We will arrange speaking opportunities and other activities to advance her quest of educating, equipping and empowering leaders globally and bridging the divide between generations. We intend to promote her accomplishments in advancing race relations and peaceful coexistence of all cultures, religions and peoples worldwide.” TransMedia also will represent her company, First Kingdom Management, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia (www.BerniceKing.com). Twenty years after her father died, Bernice eloquently preached her trial sermon and received dual degrees (Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Law) from Emory University. Inspired by her parents' activism, she was arrested multiple times demonstrating for noble and just causes during her early adulthood, which gave her “qualities and insights we plan to meld into a radio or television show she will host,” said TransMedia founder and former NBC VP Tom Madden. Transmedia will tell the story of how courageously King carried on her parents’ mission of settling differences using nonviolent means and how eloquently she delivered eulogies at the funerals of her mother and sister and how in 2008 she supported Barack Obama, calling his nomination for President part of her father's dream. In 2009, King was the first woman ever elected president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Transmedia looks forward to representing this insightful, creative, captivating, challenging, compelling and courageous King! Media contact: Adrienne Mazzone, 561-750-9800 x2270; [email protected].
