Broad and Cassel’s Mark Osherow Appointed to The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization & Education WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 20, 2015) — Statewide law firm Broad and Cassel today announced that Mark R. Osherow, an attorney in the firm’s West Palm Beach office and board certified as a specialist in business litigation by The Florida Bar, has been appointed to The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization & Education (BLSE) for a three-year term (2015-18) effective July 1. The BLSE oversees the work of all the Bar’s certification committees responsible for proposing criteria for the issuance and renewal of certification, reviewing applications, and developing and grading examinations. This appointment follows Osherow’s long history of involvement with The Florida Bar. Most recently, Osherow was appointed to The Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee and chaired the Business Litigation Certification Committee after serving as vice chair. He was a member, then chair, of a Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee and served two terms on The Florida Bar Standing Committee on the Unlicensed Practice of Law. He also served for three years on The Florida Bar Journal/News Editorial Board, and in 2004 received the "Excellence in Writing Award" for his article on the civil theft statute. Osherow also is active in the South Palm Beach County Bar Association (SPBCBA), where he will be inducted as president on May 30. He has been a director of the SPBCBA since 2005 and an officer since 2012. In 2007, he was appointed to the Palm Beach County Judicial Information Systems Policy Board, on which he continues to serve.
