TEDxBOCARATON ANNOUNCES 2ND ANNUAL REGIONAL CONFERENCE, “BREAKING BARRIERS,” MARCH 26, 2015 BOCA RATON, FLORIDA (December 16, 2014) – TEDxBocaRaton has announced plans for its 2nd annual regional conference, a TED-like event themed “Breaking Barriers,” featuring 15 expert speakers, set for Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real in Boca Raton, Florida. Tickets are $75 per person to include admission, food/beverage and are available at www.tedxbocaraton.com. The independently produced event, operated under a license from TED, presents a program of discussions, demonstrations and performances by leading thinkers, innovators, artists, philosophers and entertainers from diverse fields such as technology, the arts, ecology, education and more. This year’s line-up includes: • No Bodies Crew, a collective of urban performance artists; • DJ Crunchtime, known for his talent in mixing various genres of music; • Devon Bandison, high performance coach, speaker and leader; • Laura Berman Fortgang, best-selling author of five books published in 13 languages including Now What? 90 Days to a New Life Direction and Living Your Best Life; • Charlie Siemon, P.A., internationally respected attorney and land planner responsible for building communities in South Florida and beyond with philosophy that culture should be available to all, regardless of economic status; • Barbara Schmidt, founder of Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life and Peaceful Mind Peaceful World, a community outreach program through Florida Atlantic University designed to promote dialogue in the greater community on the topic of inner peace; • Rita Barreto Craig, human resource consultant, author and executive coach who inspires with message of the importance of traditions; • Dan Abbate, entrepreneur in support of automation and technology to reduce costs and increase efficiency; • Brandon Goldberg, eight year old prodigy pianist; comedian Avish Parashar; Pastor Billy Thompson, “America’s Champion for Change”; • Terry Brock, former chief enterprise blogger for Skype, former editor-in-chief for AT&T’s business blog and co-author of social media book, Klout Matters; • Rebekah Corlew, PhD, research coordinator who builds bridges between the scientific community and the general public; • Charles L. Siemon, land use planning and planning law consultant with more than 30 years of experience providing professional services to public and private sector clients in more than 30 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, active advocate for cultural arts and founding Chair and co-producer of the Festival of the Arts BOCA; • Mike “Zappy” Zapolin, CEO of Zappy, Inc. a nutraceutical company focused on the medical benefits of (Cannabinoids) CBD’s; • Jason “Farmer Jay” McCobb, expert in sustainable agriculture specializing in urban gardening dedicated to starting a local food sytem; • Ocèane Boulais, full-time electrical engineering student at FAU, Extreme Engineer of the Year 2014 and IEEE Power and Energy Society Scholar; and • Max Torres, electrical engineering student at FAU currently researching renewable energy to develop an epidemic response kit.
