BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Hadassah Florida Atlantic is proud to offer its members and the community, three virtual Zionist Salons – spirited, guided conversations on the writings of Gil Troy based on his book “The Zionist Ideas.” Gil Troy is a noted presidential historian, author, columnist for the Jerusalem Post and Professor of History at McGill University. The virtual Zionist Salons will be expertly led by Barbara Alper, Zionist Chair of Hadassah Florida Atlantic. All three Salons are scheduled for Tuesdays at 10:00am: January 18, February 15 and March 15, 2022. There is no fee for participation in the Salons. Salon #1 is focused on Hadassah Zionism – how Hadassah Zionism is intertwined with the history and vision of the Zionist Movement. Salon #2 highlights Identity Zionism – “moving our understanding from Political Zionism (how to help the Jewish state) to Identity Zionism (how having a Jewish state helps us…).” Salon #3 - For Those Wary of Attending a Zionist Salon. If you are uncomfortable with the word Zionist and its political or ideological implications, begin to understand the why behind your discomfort and learn to see beyond it.
