Open Hearts for Orphans, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources for orphaned, abandoned, and at-risk children in the local community and beyond, announces the resounding success of its first Hearts in Action appreciation event at Benvenuto in Boynton Beach. Hearts in Action, sponsored by the OHFO Board of Directors, Ricciardella CPA, PLLC and the Calderaio Group, featured one of their “Say Yes” adoption grant recipients, Brian Wood, who shared his family’s adoption stories. The event also featured Ann Bartlinksi, Director of Medical Intervention for the charity, who announced the release of a critical new project to refurbish the pediatric ward of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Masaka, Uganda. The event drew in 79 attendees who are supporters and partners of the organization. Event Highlights Hearts in Action, designed to give supporters personal connection to the mission, also raised funds for Open Hearts for Orphans and for the “Josiah’s Hope” project. Attendees enjoyed a three-course meal while hearing live testimonies for a meaningful cause. - Presentations: Guests heard from one of Open Hearts for Orphans “Say Yes” adoption grant recipients, Brian Wood, who shared an emotional and powerful journey of adoption. The event also featured Ann Bartlinksi, Director of Medical Intervention for the charity, who announced the release of the critical new “Josiah’s Hope” project to refurbish the pediatric ward of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Masaka Uganda. Ann shared of her trip to Uganda earlier in 2025 and about the child, “Josiah” who inspired the project. Community Support: Open Hearts for Orphans extends heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Directors, sponsors Ricciardella, CPA, PLLC and the Calderaio Group, DFS Graphics for donating the table decor, P&S Promotional Specialties for donating promotional items for the guests, and Benvenuto, who hosted the event. Impact: Through the collective efforts of attendees, sponsors, and partners, Hearts in Action successfully raised over $16,000. These funds will be directly channeled into the “Say Yes” adoption grant program, and to the newly-announced “Josiah’s Hope” project, which has a total fundraising goal of $130,000.
