Boca Raton Garden Club Meetings and Speakers for 2019-20
October 1, 2019: Welcome Back Meeting – The Boca Raton Garden Club will hold its first General Meeting of the season on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 1PM at the Boca Raton Community Center in downtown Boca, 150 Crawford Blvd., on the corner of Boca Raton Blvd (2nd Ave). This “Meet and Greet” is for members and prospective members to learn of the club’s many social and charitable activities planned for this year. Free. November 5, 2019: The Boca Raton Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 at 1PM in the BRGC clubhouse, 4281 NW 3rd Ave, Boca Raton. Sydelle Dombrowsky, Certified Florida Master Gardener, and Master Naturalist will do a PowerPoint presentation with handouts - “What’s in My Salad? Is it a fruit, vegetable or what?”. January 7, 2020: The Boca Raton Garden Club will hold its General Meeting on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 1PM in the BRGC clubhouse, 4281 NW 3rd Ave. Boca Raton Floral Design Judge Christine Biscoglia, from the Wellington Garden Club, will demonstrate how to make beautiful arrangements with live flowers. February 4, 2020: The Boca Raton Garden Club will hold its General Meeting on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 1PM in the BRGC clubhouse, 4281 NW 3rd Ave. Boca Raton. Landscape Designer and Horticulturist Debra Yates, owner of BurleYates Design, is the guest speaker. Debra will give a PowerPoint presentation featuring creative gardens and coastal landscapes. March 3, 2020: The Boca Raton Garden Club will hold its General Meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 1PM in the BRGC clubhouse, 4281 NW 3rd Ave. Boca Raton. Rick Newman, who is a Biologist/Naturalist and Sea Turtle preservation expert, will give a PowerPoint presentation on saving and tagging sea turtles and the environmental impact. Mark Peters, Horticulturist and owner of Peters Nursery in Vero Beach will speak about Croton care, culture, and air layering. He will also have numerous plants available for purchase. May 5, 2020: The Boca Raton Garden Club will hold its General Meeting on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 1PM in the BRGC clubhouse, 4281 NW 3rd Ave. Boca Raton. John Goss, Horticulturist and owner of JG Tropical Plants will do a Botanical and Propagation presentation and will offer a large variety of plants for viewing and purchase.
