HabCenter Boca Raton awarded with 2019 Florida Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Award by the Florida Sterling Council and FloridaMakes Florida, May 31, 2019 – On Friday evening, May 31, at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes, Boca Raton’s HabCenter was awarded the 2019 Florida Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Award – a statewide honor - at the 2019 Governor’s Sterling Awards Banquet. The Florida Sterling Council and FloridaMakes collaborated on these statewide awards to recognize the state’s high-performing manufacturers. Florida Sterling-trained examiners and representatives knowledgeable of manufacturing, contributed their time and expertise to evaluate nominations, including site visits and management interviews for semi-finalists. The HabCenter employs an extraordinary team of dedicated and compassionate individuals who make a difference every day in the lives of adults with disabilities; HabCenter’s mission is to equip adults with special needs with the knowledge, skills and behavior needed to lead useful and productive lives with dignity, respect and independence. This award and recognition represent a true testament to the human spirit. About the Governor’s Sterling Award Established in 1992, the Florida Sterling Council is a public/private not-for-profit corporation supported by the Executive Office of the Governor. The Council oversees the Governor’s Sterling Award for Performance Excellence, presented annually by the Governor to high performing, role-model organizations, both private and public, who demonstrate superior management approaches and role model results.
