Boca Raton Innovation Campus Provides Space to the Giving Tree Boca for Third-Consecutive Year

BOCA RATON, Fla., Nov. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRIC) has welcomed The Giving Tree back to campus this month to prepare for their annual "Holiday Giving" program. The Giving Tree's mission is to provide holiday gifts for families in need.

Their program consists of receiving wish lists from non-profits, case workers and low-income families. They give out these wish lists to members of the community to purchase the items they will receive over the holidays. The organization will store and wrap the gifts – approximately 1,800 each year - at BRIC now until Christmas Eve. That night, the Giving Tree volunteers will deliver a holiday meal and the granted wishes to the families along with Santa.

"When Crocker Partners acquired BRIC earlier this year one of their goals was to use the opportunities we have, given our size, to give back to the community," said Danielle Vennett, General Manager at BRIC. "We are honored to welcome The Giving Tree to campus and offer a convenient opportunity for our tenants to volunteer and give back this holiday season."

"An insurmountable problem we have had in years past is not having the proper space to store and wrap gifts. This space [at BRIC] has made our job so much less stressful these last three years," said Leslie Steinberg, one of four co-chairs. "When people see the space, their jaws drop. We're thankful for all donations we receive, but this just sets the bar so much higher."

The Giving Tree was started 30 years ago as a small social action group within Temple Beth El providing holiday gifts for a few local families in need. With the help of the Boca Raton community, The Giving Tree has expanded to serve over 2,000 children and senior citizens every holiday season. To receive a wish, you can call 561-324-1777 or stop by their workspace at 4530 Conference Way South. After Thanksgiving weekend, they will be open 10am to 4pm seven days a week.
