PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (February 28, 2024) Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County is hosting its annual Women Build fundraiser from March 14 to 15 in partnership with Habitat families in Lake Worth Beach. This annual event supports Habitat's affordable home-building efforts and empowers women across Palm Beach County. Participants will have the opportunity to build alongside Habitat partner families, corporate sponsors, and community members. It will be a large-scale, exciting, and empowering build experience that is one of a kind! “The mission of Women Build is to engage women in the effort to provide safe and decent homes for families in need of affordable housing,” said Jennifer Thomason, CEO/President of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County. “We encourage everyone in our community to join us this year to build a strong foundation and brighter future for women and their families. By recruiting, empowering, and uplifting women, we can transform lives in our communities.” The land for the 2024 Women Build home was generously donated to Habitat by the Lake Worth Beach CRA. Together, the Lake Worth CRA and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County have built and/or financed over 45 affordable homes in the city. “Working with Habitat for Humanity for the past fourteen years has been a wonderful experience, both for us and for the community. To participate in Women Build 2024, select a half-day shift on March 14 or 15, 2024, build solo or in teams, and fundraise or donate $1,250 per person. No construction experience is necessary to participate. Women Build 2024 is nearly sold out. Interested participants are encouraged to act quickly.
